# The `stack eval` command

GHC has an
[expression-evaluation mode](https://downloads.haskell.org/ghc/latest/docs/users_guide/using.html#eval-mode),
set by passing the GHC option
`-e <expression>`. Commanding `stack eval <code>` is equivalent to commanding:

stack exec ghc -- -e <code>
