> provides functions for parameter entity substitution, general entity substitution and merging the internal and the external DTD subset into one internal part. Parameter entity substitution should be done before merging the subsets of a DTD. The function <TT

> ensures this. Substitution of general entities is done by <TT

>. The filters are monadic functions that use the State-I/O monad from the module <TT
